Does anyone know of any good advanced filleting teaching tools or videos I could learn from? I am constantly having problems filleting drafted surfaces were they meet contoured surfaces. Any help would be great thanks.
when it comes to adding fillets there aren't really any do this do that types of vids because there are so many different things that go on in parts, what worked on this one doesn't work on the other, of course this is for advanced or complicated parts.
some rules of thumbs:
1) try to use a face when possible it will add fillets\rads to what ever it touches, this way if an edge you selected disappears you won't get errors.
2) don't add fillets too early in the model unless it is important to the shape, most fillets are cosmetic.
3) if you get a failure putting a fillet over another or try to fillet in one feature you may have to reorder, this before that one kind of thing or make more than one of that fillets as SW sometimes needs to finish one before adding another.
4) and this is a tip for all modeling. the last thing you should always add to your models are fillets\chamfers and cuts\holes. helps more than you know.

last is you couls also use multiple bodies, fillet the seperate solid body and then use the combine tool to glue back together.
Thank you for your reply. I have seen some vids on youtube and other sites and have read as much as l could but am still trying to find more info on a consitant filleting problem that I face to become better educated in hard filleting issues.
glad I could help to a point , but I still run into filleting hickups and i have been modeling in SW for 16 years, just have to make alot of parts to get better.
Ed Eaton has a couple of presentations that focus on fillets.
this might help?
