    Crashing Issue

    Jason John

I am a current student and have mulitple installations of other CAD software installed and useable. I have installed solidworks a few weeks ago and can get it to start up fine but as soon as I try to start a new part it freezes and the program does not respond. After messing around with it a few times by opening a model file directly I got it to run one time and was able to work on the model with no issues.

Heres some background, this is a brand new computer that I ordered specifically to run these programs. This computer runs Autocad, Inventor, Pro Eng, Creo 3 flawlessly. This computer has 16 g of RAM with a 3G video card and an i7 3.6 proc.

      Things I have tried-

           multiple ways of opening program

reinstallation of software w and wo restarts

           updating drivers

So last but not least I paid for a student edition of the software that doesnt work and not sure how to get this problem remedied
