I cannot see how to turn the laser, water, plasma cutting off and use a turret punch to make our part cost. I have changed to punch in my template filter column but that does not change anything.
just found I can right click on each cut path to select this.
Some parts have many holes and to change each one manually is very slow. So I am back to needing to know how I can make punch my default. I tried adding it but it comes thru as a no cost assigned item now, even tho I did add the per stroke cost.
Sadly I am still faced with a per inch cost instead of a per punch cost. The cut method only seems to allow length cutting not stroke cutting as the default. With this I am back to manually changing each hole. Need to go try some more......
I don't use costing and am not familiar with the costs of punching versus cutting, but it seems like you could just use some simple math as a work-around until you can convince SolidWorks that they need to allow for punching as well as cutting. If you use a 1" punch, then your cost per puch equals your cost per inch. If you use a 1/2" punch, then your cost per inch should be twice your cost per punch. If you use a 2" punch, then your cost per inch should be half your cost per punch.
You would have to make allowances for any fractional punch length, which would have to add a full punch cost.
