Ontario SWUG and COSMOS User Group Meeting

When:   Wednesday, September 21st, 2011

Time:    6:00pm – 9:00pm

Where:  Angus Glen Community Centre, 3990 Major Mackenzie Drive East, Markham, ON

Activity Rooms 2 & 3

You are invited to attend the next meeting for the Ontario SolidWorks User Group, which is also being run in conjunction with the Ontario COSMOS User Group meeting.  The mandate of these User Groups is to provide an independent forum for SolidWorks and COSMOS users to discuss the software and exchange information freely.

 

There will be a number of presentations, as well as a light dinner provided, all free of charge!  If you are interested in attending please contact:

Opening of meeting, light meal, open discussions, slide show of SolidWorks World 2011

 

“Steady State and Transient Thermal Analysis”

Bill McEachern, Red Stone Six

 

Bill will demonstrate how to use Solidworks simulation to show how steady state and transient thermal analysis and an approach for converting from transient to steady state to solve a problem

Creating a Progressive Strip Layout of a stamped Bracket

Michael will use Logopress3 to demonstrate how he designs his progressive dies, some steps he demonstrate,

  1. Analyse, clean and prepare an imported model for a progressive die strip layout.
  2. Make the process step by step.
  3. Create strip layout for 1up and 2up die and part nesting options in LP3.
  4. Insert gut punches and forming punches.
  5. Create and cleanup 2D drawing for design review/customer. 

Also please bring any sheet metal parts that you may want Michael to demonstrate with!
