I have exported displacement result of static analysis by "Results > List Results > Save" in to a text file. Once this is done can we import the same displacement file in the next session?. I have attached the displacement file i have exported.
What exactly are you looking to do and what do you mean by next "session"? Are you referring to another Study of the same part or a different part? Sorry just not totally sure what you are referring to.
I need to import the displacement result file in other study of same part.
Thanks for your reply.
I don't mean to pry but why do you want to do this and why just the displacement results? Why not just run the other study? Do you just want to be able to view results for the other study without actually having run an analysis? As far as I know you cannot import result files from one study to another. Simulation requires you to run an analysis to get any results for a study. Now, having said that, you could maybe copy the results files from the first study you performed, name them appropriately, save them in the proper location and you might be able to view them in the other study you were referring to. However, if this worked you would get all the results not just the displacement and of course the results would just be a copy of the original analysis.
For comparison purpose i tried to set displacement for all nodes using Simulation API programmatically. But there is no function to set displacement ( You can refer this link http://help.solidworks.com/2010/English/api/swsimulationapi/SolidWorks.Interop.cosworks~SolidWorks.Interop.cosworks.ICWResults_members.html ). That is why i started trying "export import" options. By knowing the format of exported displacement, I can write my customised results in that format. If there is any importing option for results, then i can import my customised results in to study. By this way i can rectify API inadaptability.
