convert all entities of a face in one way?
Deepak Gupta Aug 28, 2008 6:59 AM (in response to Philippe Keirse)I had once talked to SW support people and they replied it is not possible to convert all of them in one go. SW will always convert the outer boundary.

convert all entities of a face in one way?
1-AGZ5BA Aug 28, 2008 9:33 AM (in response to Philippe Keirse)There is a way grab inner loops... If you select the face and then an edge that is on an inner loop (hole or cutout in the plate) then instead of the outer edges being converted the inner loop will be.
This will not work however on your example with holes as you will need to select all holes so it won't save you any time.
One way to get around this is to turn on the edge filter ("e" on your keyboard) then box select around the plate... all edges will be selected. now convert entities.
You need to be carefull that there are no conterbored holes or similar as you will also grab these edges and not just those on the top face.
thanks,

convert all entities of a face in one way?
1-YJ1IM Aug 28, 2008 2:04 PM (in response to 1-YJ1IM)OK, Here is a macro that with select all of the edges of selected face and convert them into sketch geometry. The face must be pre-selected and you have to be in edit sketch mode before you run the macro.
Since it is a macro, model edits that add or remove edges will not be updated in the sketch.-
