I would like to add an additional length option to an already existing smart fastener. Currently, 1 inch is the only option for a #6 self tapping screw. I would like to add a 3/4" option. I have looked through all help files and can't find the solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I do not have the "Add New Size" column header.
Which version of SW and what's the SP you are using?
Is it a standalone Toolbox or network version?
I'm not sure the option exists in 2011 to add components. The video and my example were completed in SW 2012.

SW 2011 SP5 and it is a local toolbox install.

I doubt whether it is available with SW 2011
There was a major change to Toolbox in 2012 and it is available with 2012 onwards.
Are you trying to add only one type of item change or different screws?
If you want, you can modify the toolbox database to make this work
You have to use MS Access or any other database (.mdb) editing tools, It is easy if it is only the length

I have a problem related to smart fastener. I have created a Custom Part and added it to the ToolBox.
I have inserted Mate Reference in it. This works fine using DRAG & DROP from Toolbox. It picks the location automatically.
Now I want to use it as a Smart Fastener so that it is automatically placed to all the Holes of my assembly in a single stroke.
My Problem is that the Part created by me ins't available in the list of Smart Fasteners Dialog Box. Its Folder itself is missing.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

I've been struggling for months on this very same problem. Smart components and smart fasteners are not the same thing and auto-populating an assembly with "smart fasteners" makes mating much easier. however I face a similar issue where I want to auto populate a fastener "smartly", I cannot seem to find any way to "smartly" fasten a rivet in an assembly. the Rivets and studs folder under "GB" doesn't show in the smart fastener library. Is there a way I can add a specific folder from the toolbox to the smart fastener library?

This should help.
The attached video shows these same steps.
Make Sure that both SolidWorks Toolbox and SolidWorks Toolbox Brower are enabled at Start Up under Add-ins.
Open or create a new part (this will give you quick access to the "Toolbox" menu at the top of the
screen).
From the top menu - Choose Toolbox / Configure
Pick Customize Hardware (Tab 2)
Browse to the Fastener that you want to add configurations to Choose the appropriate Filter under the Standard Properties - In this case Length
Click on the + "Add New Size" (shown in picture below)
Fill in the appropriate information (I usually scroll down to a similar version in the list, before I click on Add, to use for reference on appropriate values).
Be sure to Save when you are done.
