Lenovo P1 - Poor Performance

I just got a Lenovo P1 and having trouble with the performance of Solidworks 2017.This is the best machine I have owned and I am getting the worst performance, so i am hoping its just a set up issue:

  • Intel(R) Xeon(R) E-2176M  CPU @ 2.70GHz, 2712 Mhz, 6 Core(s),
  • 32Gigs Ram
  • NVIDIA Quadro P2000 with Max-Q Design
  • Display = 3840 x 2160 x 59 hertz with touch

SW lags when doing simple things like adding dimensions, selecting materials, selecting tools. Its not a huge lag but its about 2 seconds for selecting a dimension and 10 seconds when I click on the appearance tab. Also dialog boxes flicker and are not smooth.  Spinning a small assembly can take a few sec to start but once it begins to move its rotates fluidly.

I thought things would be even better on this machine but these quirks are making it more annoying to work on. I was thinking this may be do to the 4k display ? Or maybe I need to configure the video card?

Do you guys have any advice on what I could do?
