I would like to be able to convert a 2D sketch to a 3D sketch.
Could you be more specific?
When I think of 2D sketch I think of Draftsight. When I think of 3D sketch
I think of what is done with in the sketch mode in a 3D model.
If you are talking about this kind of 3D sketch then you can copy from the 2D sketch and paste into the 3D sketch mode already.
I would like to convert an existing 2D sketch in SW to a 3D sketch in SW, so I wouldn't have create a new sketch.
I stand corrected, I can not place a 2d sketch on a plane in a 3d sketch. Maybe a good enhacement request?
Thanks Tony for the clarification. I would place this in as an ER.
Correct me if I'm wrong but you can also take a 2d sketch and put it into an actual 3d sketch but you will have to pick a plane first.
see if this helps
I can see maybe the convert entities might work with this. I think the interesting part would be how the software would convert it if the line entity is coming from an oscure vantage point in relation to the 2D sketch.
You second link is nothing more then 2D conversion to a 3D model.
