I am using SW2019 SP5.
I have an existing sheet metal bracket with an edge flange. I have a second bracket that is identical in every regard except in the angle of the edge flange.
Configurations are NOT an option here. Yes, a "save as copy" would work. But now you have two independent files. I really want to keep the parametric link in tact since both will be made from the same flat pattern blank. To that end, the second bracket was created via a "Save Bodies" command from the first. After either an""insert bends" or a "convert to sheet metal" on the second file, how would you go about changing the angle of the flange?
An Unfold and sketch bend doesn't work - sketch bends are not allowed across existing bends. A move face / rotate doesn't follow sheet metal bend behavior. The "insert bends" approach creates a "RoundBend" feature under the "Flatten-Bends" feature. The "RoundBends" feature shows the existing bend angle but editing is not allowed. The subsequent "Process-Bends" feature does not seem to have any dimension/angle inputs.
I know how to brute force the solution. I am hoping to find here a much more elegant approach in manipulating what already exists.
Thanks,
Daen
