How does Solidworks know on which side of the surface, will the sheet-metal be created?
 

This is a detailed explanation:

I created a Surface-Knit by joining (knitting) three planar surfaces.
I would like to create a sheet-metal from that Surface-Knit.

What confuses me, is: how does Solidworks know, what is the inner and what outer side of that Surface-Knit?

For example, the second
