Wyrmwood - My employment with Wyrmwood is officially ending today. I got a choice between working in the Shop or taking severance pay as they are downsizing the design/engineering department, plus going from SolidWorks (which I used since 1997), to Fusion 360.
So I'm hanging up my SolidWorks tools, giving them one more feel, one more look, turn around one more time to take one more look, turn around slowly turn the knob, walk out the door knowing that era has past on. Pick up my head and walk forward into the sunset, towards another unknown, but much anticipated future.
Two things, I'm not interested in going "backwards" in the Design Software (to 360), nor do I want to go to the shop and sand furniture pcs like a Zombie, over and over and over.
The main factor for me was that normally when a company is sold the purchased company is the "Rouge Step Child" and there is no way that anyone from that part of the company knows anything. I've done numerous equipment design over the years and I've shared my interest in assisting them with the design requirements, but, that didn't happen and then I knew.
It was a pleasure meeting all the guys in the trenches and if you are looking for really good money/value gaming furniture and gaming accessories, go to www.wyrmwoodgaming.com
What are my plans?
Couple of things, growing our Martins Roast A Pig business, which is a seasonal business, (from March to October) and then venturing out and sellinghttp://www.lifetimecookware.com/ between November and April, between the two "Seasonal" jobs we should be just fine. Unless SolidWorks Corp gives me a call :) ;) to help work on the New Forum ;)
