Is there a way to have a part file show it's material as an indented item on the BOM of an assembly that that part is in?

Something like this:

Top Assembly BOM

[1][Part A ][QTY 2]

[2][Part B][QTY 1]

 [2.1][Part B Before Machining][QTY 1]

[3][Part][C][QTY 1]

We've been restricted from adding additional assemblies. So I can't just put the part in an assembly of one part.
