Named BOM (.BOM extension) seem to be pseudo-files. They don't have data cards, and they aren't searchable. They don't show up in a user's count of checked-out files. Now that we are starting to use these BOM tab tools, it's an obvious flaw in the system. One danger is users could leave a bunch of them checked-out and locked.
