What is the best way to create a harness with wires ending unterminated. I'm reverse engineering a number of looms that we use in our vehicles that have been outsourced. One of which is a comms harness that has a 24 way Delphi Sicma, this goes to a few different power connectors and some wires we leave unterminated for the end user to terminate themselves for their equipment. I'm reluctant to create a 'dummy' connector as it would be preferable to keep it out of the BOM. What is the best way to indicate a loose wire end in the schematic and then to route it in the assembly?

Also what is the difference between a connector and a terminal? they both have symbols with terminals and require a part model with Cpoints to route in 3D. I'm assuming they're effectively the same but I'm interested to know if using terminals would have any benefit for me.
