I am attempting to design a regenerative cooling engine with Helical grooves running 30 degrees to the axis of the engine, around the entire contour. I have only been able to maintain this curve over a completely cylindrical segment of the engine, however there are revolved curved that require the grooves to run through them as well, something similar to the image below:
