Hi,
I'm using Solidworks Electrical Schematic, and I'd like an elegant way of representing components with attached cables, and make sure those cables appear correctly in the terminal strips editor.
I've tried two different ways:
- Add a separate cable, and create a custom cable reference with a manufacturer of "virtual" or something like that. This gives something useful for the terminal strips manager, but obviously you end up with extra fake entries in the the wire/cable lists.
- Put the terminal symbol right on top of the connection point - this passes the equipotential correctly (though you have to be careful to orient the terminal properly). No extra cables in the lists, but also no representation of that connection in the terminal strips manager.
Is there a way of getting the best of both worlds?
- No additional wires in the lists
- Cable end appears on the terminal strip diagram
- Core numbers/colours are stored in the manufacturer part (not a cable style).
Thanks,
Sandy
