It seems like every day I encounter 1-2 new bugs in Solidworks. I'm beyond frustrated at this point.

First of all, it appears that when in a sketch, the origin icon (red L symbol) is not actually placed on any relevent origin. See screenshot (highlighted origin for both part & assembly from feature tree for reference).

Secondly, I'm working in a sketch & trying to use the modify sketch tool to flip the x/y plane of the sketch. The little flip icon on the mouse is missing when I hover over the dots on the ends of the black L symbol. I am still able to flip both axes at the same time when hovering over the center, but all that really does is rotate 180 degrees. I want to flip just the x or just the y axis. Again, see screenshot.

Side note: what is the little dashed line thingy in the modify sketch screenshot (highlighted in red box)?

For a top tier CAD program that costs a good chunk per license, I expect basic functionality to work. Has anyone seen either of these issues before?
