Can someone please shed some light on the tool ‘make part flexible’. I have been using this for a while, and it works to a certain extend. 

I have a rubber part that needs to flex, this rubber part is in a subassembly. When I add the ‘make part flexible’ it works correctly. Now when that subassembly is added to top level assembly these mates (I assume it is a form of mate?) do not work. Though when
