I work in the metal window and door branch, and sometimes I 3d model some profile constructions. I have had pretty poor luck getting the often complex and multi loop dwg or dxf sections of the profile manufacturer to work, so usually I need to make a simplified version by myself. But even when I simplify it a lot sometimes solidworks will not recognize it and reports "invalid profile member
