It sure would be nice if PDM had the tools to add the "undo revision" functionality to the workflow. Example, File is in Released state, user changes state to WIP (transition name is called "Revision Required") then they find out, ooops, I didn't need to do that. So an email is sent to Admin requesting "roll back" Well, I view roll back as a tactical nuke option and not intended to be used several times a week as a normal component of the work flow. The process of manually undoing a revision (move file from WIP back to Released and with the previously released version as newest and data card variables fixed is a PITA. Been round and round with VAR about this and we could not find a way to do it that did not look like a cobbled up house of cards about to topple.
One of the biggest challenges of making a transition to do this was making a latest version (because I must assume it's been edited) from the previously released version.

Or I just make the roll back part of the day to day users' process.
