I need to test a snap fit lock mechanism for a part that rotates about a hinge point.

I have no idea on how to make analysis for this setup.

Need guidance in boundary conditions, contacts.

I gave fixed support to the white part and hinge support on the cylindrical to the other part at the hinge location.

For the contacts : I used no penetration with friction 0.05.

For the loads : I used remote loads with rotational movement and applied 20 degrees.

In the image the part with male snap profile will travel 20 degrees to get locked into the other part.

With these settings, the solver did not converge. For a long time it was in iteration #53.

Please guide me with this..
