I am new in SolidWorks but have used DesignSpark Mechanical to create simple models and assemblies for my 3D printer. In DesignSpark you can have an assembly of many parts and you can select any of the parts and work on it while viewing the rest of the assembly. In the assembly you can select a feature like a surface from a part and create a new part off it. Is that possible in SolidWorks?
