we are developing software where one feature is measuring the length of 2D contour in pdf file. The drawing is often created with Solidworks and converted from 3D dxf or dwg to 2D pdf. The objects are typically sheet metal components. The challenge for us that 2D pdf drawings contain undesirable elements (lines, text) that obfuscate the contour of the object. Our AI models have challenges there.
