I am looking at simulating the forces on a racing row boat for four people, and I am looking to add stiffness to the boat. So far, I have neglected the weight of the rowers and the hydrostatic forces from the water surrounding the boat, but I don't know if that it correct. I am applying the forces to the end of the riggers as shown in the picture below perpendicular to the oar. I am doing this simulation
