I need an easy way to export part properties from a Solidworks model to a text or Excel file.

Ideally, I would like to open the top assembly model, then use a tool to traverse down the tree in the BOM, opening each part model and extracting a desired property from all components, then compiling a list of values for each component within a table.

Sounds exactly what you would get with the "data card"
