I have a model and I needed to make a series of incremental changes to one dimension so I could 3D print them on an HP MJF printer. basically I was changing one feature that was at a certain angle relative to the horizontal by 1 degree and I was printing 15 different parts. changing the angle is done easily enough. but to keep track of which part was which I added a text cut feature on my part with a marker saying simply +5, +6, +7, etc.
I know I can link text to a parameter but can I link it to a dimension like I can with equations? it was rather tedious to manually change the angle and then edit the text feature every time. changing the text cut just requires multiple clicks so while it take super long to do the steps it just got me thinking if it's possible to have the text value for the cut automatically update/link to the actual dimension that is being changed.
thoughts?
