I am using Solidworks CAM to generate toolpaths - that is going well. The post processor for my milling machine, a Next Wave Shark HD510 (light duty gantry-style) is not included in the technology database.
I need g-code (.tap) that will run on the HD510. Do I simply request the manufacture's post processor in add it to the TechDB?
In the mill post folder, each machine has multiple file types (.ctl, .lng, .pinf). Are those the files I ask for:
Are post processors used/recognized by the software (e.g., Solidworks CAM) or does the post processor need to be written the the software?
Thanks.
