I've worked with SolidWorks for many years. I've always used company licensing, so it's always been free, in a sense. I no longer have that access, but I need a lot of SolidWorks' capabilities. I'm looking for a good quality 3D design software that uses similar building philosophies, but I also don't have a lot to spend. I don't use surfaces much.
