I have managed to create a table driven pattern that I want to apply to multiple surfaces but the result only applies to the surface that the original feature is on.  Essentially the assembly is a the base of the garden room and so is rectangular with a number of joists.  I added the intial hole within the assembly itself.

You can see from the attached the configuration looks correct with the yellow counterbore
