After installation of SOLIDWORKS Student Design Kit 2014, I notice that I can save my files in different file formats. Are the file format restrictions removed with SDK 2014?

Yes, starting with SOLIDWORKS 2014-2015 version, Student Design Kit can "Save As" in the same file formats as the commercial version, except CATIA V5.
