Question:

Why are there multiple files of the same name in eDrawings for iPad?

Answer:

If the same named file(s) is loaded into eDrawings® for iPad more than once, the first instance/previous file is not overwritten. Multiple instances of the file are added and are differentiated with an iteration tag, <1>, <2>, <3>, etc.

For example, if the user loads the file "test.eprt" twice, from an email or data share, the file will show on the screen as test-1.eprt and test-2.eprt.  Be aware that the file name truncates if it is longer than 17 characters, making it difficult to determine its version/iteration.  However, the icons will be sorted by file name.
