Auto-explode with eDrawings

Blog Post created by Michel Cloutier Employee on Nov 9, 2009

Very few people know about this “un-documented feature” of eDrawings, the auto-explode. It’s very easy, when you have an assembly opened with eDrawings, simply hit “Ctrl-E” and voila, the assembly explodes.

  • If you open an eDrawings that already has an exploded view, it will use it,
  • If you open a SW or a ProE assembly (or an already existing eDrawings without an exploded view) and hit the Ctrl-E, it will auto-explode it,
  • And this trick will even work in the EnterprisePDM Viewer! See below.
