Hi SWE team, trying to download few parts from ECP site. example a connector. After it was associated to a symbol on line diagram and a cable connected, noticed that circuit information was not there. I could not connect the cable core to the connector terminals. anything missed? or i downloaded a wrong library from ECP? I'm fresh on SWE,…(Show moreShow less)
Hi everybody , When I try to copy the terminal strip , terminal strip "Short Tag Mark" automatically turn to "Level 2" . I dont want that . Use "paste special". It allows you to control exactly what happens when you paste it. Control +shift+v instead of control+v. Or right click where you want to paste, and select "paste special" instead of paste.
We have been using Solidworks Electrical 2D for about 3 years. Our wire types in our template is constantly becoming outdated as we add new wires to current projects. I would like to merge those new wire types into my template but there doesn't seem to be a clean way to do that. I used copy and "Paste Special" but the copied wires then went into…(Show moreShow less)
When drawing a black box around wires (it automatically creates connections points which is great). Is there a way to set my project to always show particular attributes (such as mnemonics next to the connection point)? Also as a quick alternative method, is there a simple way to copy the attributes shown on one device (let's say i have…(Show moreShow less)
Some of what your'e looking for is available in 2019, the terminals can have specific attributes applied to them by going to the Project>Configuration>Text section and selecting a symbol for your Black Box terminals. As for the attributes, just go to the BlackBox symbol in your library and add the Attributes you typically use into that…
Ok, So i've downloaded a part (*.TEWZIP) from the online content portal. but I'm failing to get this to appear into my solidworks electrical 2019. I've tried unarchiving via "Library/ Parts manager/ Unarchive" but it's not appearing in my project. What am i doing wrong? How should you get a part into your library from online content?
Yes, if you go to the Manufacturer Part property and enter the correct dimensions (see screenshot), it will reshape the 2D symbol upon placement to the correct size. So by entering the dimensions on the part it forces the footprint to the proper dimensions. *Note, you may need to right click on the footprint, go to symbol>update for the part…
Hi everybody , I cannot succeed in making multiple wiring in SWE. I mean I can not select one group of wire at a time for example in the origin schematic page. How can I do that ?? Please help on this problem.Daniel Myers
I am struggling to get SW electrical to route my Harness, all cables and wires are added to the harness, but when I route the harness only the wires follow the EW_path what could be the reason for this, it is really frustrating as i am the only one using this too at the moment in our company. see pictures attached. i expanded the cable tab in…(Show moreShow less)
I assume you know how to edit formula, but just in case, see below. Once there, you'll want to adjust your formula as follows, it maybe listed already in predefined formulas. It takes the counter (ORDERNO) and reformats it to take 2 decimal places with a leading zero. COMPONENT_ROOT + STRZ(VAL(COMPONENT_ORDERNO), 2, 0)
Thank you. I will double check when I’m back on Monday but I recall looking in filters and it only had the book. No expansion or options for individual drawings within the book but it’s been a long few weeks maybe I just overlooked it. Simply put it would be nice just to generate a report for references on an individual drawing as I go without…
