I have a model that includes a "Sketch Picture" to simulate a video screen. It shows in my model but disappears when I make an edrawing. I would like to include it in my edrawing to send it to my customer. How do I do that?

We work on Pro-Engineer Wildfire 3.0 and use E-Drawing to show 3D views of our assemblies to customers etc. We are having problems with some parts/assemblies which when published from Pro-Engineer to E-Drawing either dont show any of the colours used in Pro-E or several close parts adopt the same colour, therefore blending into 1 colour so it looks as if its one part and not several. Has anyone got any idea how to solve this problem

Thanks in advance

Stuart

I use solidworks for my spec sheets and I have an app that prints out my entire spec sheet and am wondering if instead of exporting my drawings out to an image file if I can use an Edrawings file and embed that into my vb code to print.

Any tips on pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated.

We've been taking a look at using eDrawings as an AutoCAD DWG viewer.

One problem we've come across is that any layer in a DWG that was saved as frozen isn't visible in the eDrawing viewer. Checking or unchecking the checkbox in the displayed layer field has no effect.

Layers that are turned off can be toggled on and off though. Is there a work-around for this? Changing 20 years of CAD files isn't my first choice of things I'd like to do.

can someone tell me why published edrawings have lightsource locked on?

The published files show the model black(in the shadow) when shaded in front view(it doesn't matter if the shadow option is selected or not). There appears to be no lighting option in edrawing; or I haven't found it yet. Please advise.

Thanks.

I know edrawings can be used as a markup tool for SW files, but what is the typical way to use this as it related to PDMWorks?

If a user simply right clicks on a SW file and selects View/Markup, edrawings opens the file read-only. If a user marks up the file and wants to save it, the file can be saved and checked into the vault as an edrawing file, but I don't see any kind of automatic reference back to the SW file it was created from. If the user has write access to the SW file, it looks like the markup info is saved within the SW file and no edrawings file is created.
