First, I apologize as I do not use any of the solidworks programs, nor am I familiar with them very much. With that being said I am my companies net admin/tech and I am having a problem saving a particular "drawing" to the .stl format. It says that there is a geometry problem or something to that effect. Again, sorry for my lack of knowledge of the software, but to me that doesn't appear as if that certain error is computer related. Like I do not believe there is anything wrong with the set up, I believe that it is a problem in the drawing itself. Any input would help greatly. Thanks.

Hi All,

I am a contract Deign Engineer with clients using SW2007, 8 & one soon to be SW2009.

Presently I am using SW2007 on one computer and SW2008 on another. I am upgrading to SW2009 next month however I hear it won't be out until October.

I purchased a new computer and before I start loading the different licenses I need to know if there is an easy way, by clicking one icon, and not having to check & uncheck addins, or redirect for file format locations, to set up all three versions.

I want to be able to go in one version, work, close out of that version and then go into another version with no hassle.

I have three hard drives. Would it help to install one on each.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have a great day,

Curt Westgate

Hi,

I need to switch from a network license to a stand alone license without having to reinstall Solidworks. Does anyone have exeperience with this? I contacted local support guys and they walked me through siwtching serail numbers using the REG Edit process but it still pulls a license from the network.

I am also running Camworks on this installation and that is why I do not want to reload Solidworks because it was a pain to get Camworks registered as a stand alone seat.

Has anybody done this before? Is it possible?

Thanks,

Andy

is anyone running AutoCAD 05 or 06 along side Solidworks 08 SP4?

apparently sometime after we upgraded to 4.0 (including DWGEditor), our AutoCAD users are having troubles running ACAD...when they open the program, it gets to 99%, but hangs on opening the ACAD.DWT file...it will eventually open, but it takes a good 5 minutes.

I'm no longer familiar enought with the workings of ACAD to determine why it can't open this file (even tho it's there, and in the correct folder)

anyone else?

Hey everyone, my company is getting ready to move to SW 2008 and we're looking for a way to automatically uninstall Solidworks 2006. I've created a Group Policy computer startup script that uninstalls PDMWorks, eDrawings (several versions), and Solidworks in that order but Solidworks does not uninstall.

I've tried logging the uninstall using the msiexec uninstall feature but it does not tell me anything useful.

HOWEVER, if I log is as a domain admin and run my script manually, everything works just fine...

Any help you all can provide would be great, thanks in advance.
